Hi;
If you can still locate the manual that came with the printer or
otherwise find one (I could not), check to see what printer the SL-1051A
emulates and what, if anything has to be done to switch the printer's
operating mode.
Failing that: I believe it is an HPGL-compatible printer (Hewlett Packard
Graphics Language). If so, the driver for a HP JL model would work. I
would try the driver for the HP LaserJet Series ll. There is one on the
Win XP CD. If that works, try the driver for the LJ Series lll.
Also, you might find that the printer will output one page with some
characters on the top left followed by the page(s) you actually want or a
few lines print followed by some nonsense followed by nothing. You might
have to enter the computers BIOS setup routine and change the setting for
the parallel port the printer uses (usually Lpt1) to SPP or bidirectional
or similar.
Do set a restore point before experimenting-just in case.
