Currently Safely Remeove Hardware is a tiny icon down in the systray
notification area. How can I put a link to it directly on my desktop??

Forcing Google's use of key words/phrases helps to reduce the search
results count (by a third, in this case) and sometimes provides more
focused results (since users often don't bother with reviewing past the
first 20 hits):

Noted. But the very first hit on *both* of these particular two searches
is "Create a Safely Remove Hardware shortcut - Neil Turner's blog." I
was tempted to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" button, but I thought
I'd give the OP a few more choices to look at.

In this case, yes, twas the same first hit. Not necessarily true.
Depends on the search criteria you provide. I figure if you're not
going to hand-hold the OP (or change their diaper depending on how much
you want to indicate their inability to do for themself) that you should
provide as focused a search string as you can think of. There might be
an even better one than what I gave.

I've seen folks telling someone else to do a Google search. Useless
recommendation (unless you're deliberately being obtuse) without
providing some search criteria to qualify that suggestion. I've seen
folks give the search criteria but it is so unfocused that the search
results are meaningless. In this case, and because a sufficient count
of keywords were provided (or because they were the same count), the
search results were similar if the first or first few hits.
