'Safely Remove Hardware' Icon

Is it possible, and if so, how can I remove the Safely
Remove Hardware icon from the system tray, whilst the
device remains connected.

Ben ... you can always hide it by going to the Taskbar and Start Menu,
Taskbar tab, Cutomize button, and select Always Hide the 'Safely Remove
Hardware' item in the list.

My advice, however, is to leave it at 'Hide when inactive' ... it's there
for a purpose. If you have a USB device, etc attached to to your computer,
it will offer you the option of 'stopping' it before you unplug it. That
will prevent you from losing data from a 'surprise disconnect'.
