Runtime Error! Program: c:\windows\winlogon.exe

i have a problem with my computer i don't know how to fix.

recently, i have been recieving the folliwng message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program c:\windows\winlogon.exe

This application has requested the runtime to terminate
in an unusual way"

as a result of this, several problems occur with my
computer, such as i cannot access the task manager by
pressing ctrl-alt-delete (it just pops up for a second
then dissapears). also, it causes my internet connection
to disfunction, and i can only get it working again by
rebooting.

i'm at my wits end on this. does anyone know what to do??

Hi

Several are having trouble with error messages. See what Mitch says to do in the post from 4/30 under "help me!
Also see the post from "Bee" from 1/28 from "very frustrated." This link fixes the problem addressed in that post

My concern is if this works when you have Windows XP which is what I have. Also if it is a fix for all similar error messages.

I just found out you should not remove the file that Mitchell suggested. I found this link and it seems to be the answer:

I don't know how to do this but it seems to be the answer.
