Runtime error again

This forum is filled with questions about this but I cant find any useful
reply.
Once it was caused by troyans but it was years ago, what is the problem now?

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way, please contact the application's support team for more information.

Its my program for internet connections (ADSLmodem) I have reinstalled it
several times. I even erase folders and clean registry. Install from CD. On
one problem disk I get this error message after install and trying to set the
program up. In set up I can choose between using an old or setting up a new
connection. No matter what I choose, this errror message pops up. Its a exe
file, running it will cause this error but it is installed from a CD and
registry cleaned. And this file run without problems on 3 other HDs.
I have it installed on 3 other disks without problems.
I have ZoneAlarm with AV and antispyware and I also use some other programs
like adaware. I have used ZA for years. It happens that virus and spyware
pass thru more ot less every day but they have not been active. No infection.

Why do I get this message on one of four disks and why dont it help with
erasing forders and cleaning registry? The disk is scanned by ZA incl AV and
antispyware updated today.

I have not open any unknown file or e-mail or runned an unknown program for
a very long time.
As nothing wrong with application it is a XP issue.

I suspected that my PC was hacked but also it can be a I/O problem on m/b
that cause problems with HD (IDEports) and USB (modem).
Thanks for all your replies but it havnt helpt yet and its because the error
is still unknown. It sems not to be virus, spyware or malware.
I think hacker (with ZA ?) or I/O problems that is coming and going and
therfore cannot be found. But it all seems strange.

Hi there.

On the other 3HDD's you have installed this application on, you say they run
correctly. What Operating System are they running? the same as this computer
that has the problem?

Have you tried to do a clean boot? (start > run > msconfig then select
diagnostic services) what happens now?

If you still get the same error, have you tried to install it on the other
hard disk, that works well, and putting it in this computer?

Just to illumanate any possibilities, have you done a chkdsk or a low level
hdd diagnostic utility to make sure that there is nothing physically wrong
with the drive?

Please post back the results!

Hope it helps

Well, I think I cannot use msconfig, first it refused like everything else
before.
This start Windows without drivers and I cant do anything.
Also I want to save my user folder wich I dont have access to and it also
seems to be emty, 0 kb.
I tried to reinstall Windows but installation cannot finish, it stops after
34 minutes left.
Before that, after trying msconfig windows cannot start. It stoped at
welcome screen.
I dont know were the administrator account have gone, some other have asked
about this too. I cant login as administrator as the account no longer exist.
