running commands from a different server.

We want to run Veritas backup system on one server to back
up a few Windows 2k servers. On one of these servers we
have an application that we need to stop the databases
before backing it up. In the Veritas software you can run
pre and post commands but how could we run a script on the
application system we want to backup from the server we
are using to run Veritas ? i.e Veritas runs on a its
server and somehow shuts down the appliaction on a
DIFFERENT server.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Use psexec.exe from www.sysinternals.com. It lets you run
any command on any remote machine.
