rundll32 turned off in MSCONFIG

To whom it may concern:

I accidentally turned off rundll32 in MSCONFIG for the initial applications
running during the initial startup of my computer. Clearly this has made my
computer difficult to use. Anyway, I have the original XP install disc, can I
use that to turn rudll32 back on?

Please let me know at your earliest convenience.

Thank you

Can you boot into Windows at all? Safe mode?

What exactly did you turn off in msconfig and how did you do it? Please
be explicit, because your statement that you "turned off rundll32"
doesn't make any sense.

You should be able to successfully start with *all* of the items in the
"Startup" tab disabled.

Maybe this is it:

My computer was screwing up, some things were not working and I was
getting some kind of error messages, sometimes all the time! So I ran
some kind of anti virus scans or something and they found some things
it said it did something. Then I was getting some kind of error
message (I think) about something not being found every time I started
my computer so I ran msconfig and saw some line in there that had like
something... rundll32.. something something or another so I unchecked
it. Now my computer is still not running right.

If that was showing up in msconfig, then it's surely malware.
Run your updated AV and 3 or 4 antispyware programs.

You are infected with some sort of Malware. Have you checked for that yet?
