I am constantly getting an error message saying that rundll32 has stopped
responding. Any idea what is causing that? I have nothing running.

Faulting application RunDLL32.exe, version 6.0.5744.16384, time stamp
0x45234af6, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000,
exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0350b5ed, process id 0xd24,
application start time 0x01c703560b27aa88.

Tom,

Do you have any third-party taskbar icons like nVIDIA or ATI?

Also, process id 0xd24 translates to decimal 3364. Take a look at
'Processes' tab in Task Manager to see which process has PID 3364.

To bring up task manager, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and click 'Start Task
Manager'. If you don't have PID column on Processes tab, you can add it
through View > Select Columns.

I did install nero but I removed the startup items that nero puts in the
registry. Is there something nero has going?

There's a bug in Nero that causes the rundll32 error, and just removing the
startup entries won't fix it. Uninstalling Nero is the only option, until
they release a fix.
