Run Scan Microsoft AntiSpyware

Hope someone can help! I have downloaded the Beta
Microsoft AntiSpyware on my PC and ran a System Scan. It
found over 200,000 CommonName Registry Keys infected! I
finally aborted the Scan. Is this normal and should I
let it continue to run? I left it running for over 24
hours and it still was finding infected registry keys.

You may find this useful reading:

I don't have experience with this critter, so I'm not sure whether the
number of registry entries is likely or not.

Here's what Symantec has to say about it:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/pf/adware.commonname.html

Since Symantec is willing to recommend going to CommonName's site for
removal instructions if necessary, I think I feel comfortable also giving
that recommendation--try removing it via add or remove programs, and if that
fails, via advice from their website.

Once that's done, then I'd recommend restarting in safe mode and doing a
full, deep scan with Microsoft Antispyware to see what else might be around
still.
