Run PPT on Mac

Luke

I have a PPT that I created on a PC in PPT2003 and copied it to CD via
Package For CD method. Can the CD be run on a Mac? If not, is there a way
to convert the PPT so that it can be run on a Mac without the Mac having to
have PowerPoint or a PowerPoint viewer installed? My preference would be to
create a CD that could be run on Mac without having to load anything to the
Mac. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Since I did not receive a response from anyone in this forum, does anyone
know of another place where I can get an answer?

[CRITICAL UPDATE - If you are using Office 2003, you should install this
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Luke,

You would have to convert the presentation to a non-PowerPoint file format
(html, shockwave flash, movie). Of course, since this involves conversion
there will be some loss of functionality depending on which format is
chosen. Only one of these conversions can be done without resorting to any
other software (PowerPoint already has the capability of saving
presentations in HTML format).

By default the HTML output will contain a single root *.htm file and a
supporting sub-folder with all of the files for the slides. The root file
and supporting sub-folder can be burned to a CD and then the recipient
simply has to open up the root *.htm file in their Macintosh browser.

You will not be able to view any animations on the Macintosh (because that
requires a special runtime .dll that is only available for Windows Internet
Explorer) and you will want to limit your choice of multimedia to formats
that are compatible with browsers on both Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Also you will not get the autorun experience that Package for CD gives you
when creating CD's for distribution to Windows computers.
