Run DLL error message on restart

In trying to get rid of some spyware, I found that one
file that seemed to be causing problems was in the
Windows/system32 folder, entitled Bridge.dll. I deleted
it, since it is not present on other versions of XP. I
ran Norton Win Doctor on the registry, etc. I did a text
content search for all instances of references
to "bridge" (including "bridge.dll") in files on the C
drive, including hidden and system files) and deleted
suspicious ones.

However, whenever I restart XP I continue to get an error
message from a program called RunDLL saying "Failed to
load system file "bridge.dll". I can cancel this and no
other symptoms appear.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this error message?
Thanks for any help.

Greetings

I would run bridge.dll through the edit find in registry. I think that the
registry is loading it through rundll32.exe

To open the registry:
type regedit in a command window or the run prompt.

Hope you get it fixed.

You have an entry in the startup that is trying to use rundll32.exe to
run bridge.dll, which as you suppose, *was* the virus. Start - Run and
run MSConfig.exe
On the Startup page look for a line with that in the Command column,
uncheck it. Exit - do not bother to reboot, but next time you do there
will be a message about 'System Configuration'. Check the 'Do not show
again' box and exit
