I would like to create a Rules wizard for outlook2000. I will explain what I would like to achieve. My company uses a Specific email address to receive CV's from candidates. When the candidate sends in the CV to this email address, an automatic reply should be send to the candidate with a word file attachment, which needs to be filled in, by the candidate and returned to the same email address. when the candidate replies with the word file attachment there should be an automated "Thank You" reply message sent to the candidate.

I have outlined the steps below in sequence

1) Candidate sends CV to Company
2) Automated email with word file attachment sent to candidate for filling in
3) Candidate fills in the word file and replies to Company
4) Automated Thank you message for the candidate

The company uses the same email address for all the above communication.

Now, am able to create rules wizard for replying with word attachment to candidate's first email (Step2). (In Rules wizard I selected "Have the server reply with a specific message"). This is working fine.

My problem is when the candidate replies with the filled in attachment, am not sure how to set up the rule to reply to the candidate with "Thank You" message and at the same time the first reply email message for the candidate with word attachment shouldn't be send again by mistake.

One way I have identified to solve the problem is to look for an attachment in email message from candidate. I can't look for an attachment with a specific name (the candidate may change it). So am looking whether the field Author has my author name using the rules wizard "Except with selected Properties of document or form". When I do that this rule is flagged as "client only rule"

Can somebody guide me on how to solve this problem or is there any alternate method for this?

Thanks in advance

Kind Regards,

Charley
