Hi all!,

This is a little odd. I installed office 2007 and any rule functionality did
not show up in outlook. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing
occured.

There is not mention of rules on any menu anywhere.

I'm a bit puzzled.

Thanks for you help

"Rules and Alerts" are on the Tools menu - about the 5th item down. If they
really are missing, reset the toolbar.
Right click on the toolbar, choose customize. Click the toolbar tab and
select menu bar then reset.

thanks!

It was a little odd what happen. I imported my outlook pst file, and the
rules were no where to be found. I had not set up an email account yet

Then, when I added the email account, rules showed up

Guess that is how it works. Go figure.

It depends on the version of Outlook you used previously. New versions store
them in the PST and can reconnect to them, older versions did not - you had
to export them as a RWZ file and import on the new system or recreate them
from scratch. Since they only work with email, yes, you need the email
account configured.

By the way, never export to or import from a PST. There's simply no reason
and you'll lose data if you do.
