my windows xp shuts itself down frequently by giving me
a "system shutdown" box with a one minute countdown timer
in order to save anything i am working on. the box itself
states that "the remote procedure call (rpc) service has
terminated unexpectantly"
i can't get a really consistent pattern for when the box
comes up. but i think it has to do with my music software
application (creative play station by creative)
a box after the system shutdown box comes up and says
that this was "caused by the nt authority/system". the
computer will shutdown after the one minute countdown and
then restart. i believe that when it happens once it is
more likely to happen right after that. getting into a
very tedious pattern of shutting down and booting back
up. if anyone out there can help me than you are truly an
mvp.
