Leave them be. And no, just starting a pc with a se bootdisk doesnt copy
files to the hdd.

Sounds more like it was upgraded to XP home from Windows 98. I missed
some of the features of config.sys and autoexec.bat direly when I
switched to XP, but through someone's help in here a couple of years
ago I discovered that you can create files that you can integrate
with the command.com prompt and make them work. I call mine auto.bat
and xpconfig.sys and they can be listed in the advanced properties of
your command.com shortcut. Took a little change in the CONFIG.NT file
in system32 to make it all work. But now all my old self written DOS
programs work again. ANSI.sys was a must along with some SET
routines.

Hello,

That is normal and you can't delete none of the files except autoexec.nai,
this file was created by norton during an installation of software... did
you have any software from norton installed ? If so you can delete the file.
I have a fresh windows xp sp2 installed and have all of them except
autoexec.nai ...
