I have a Dell Dimension 8200 computer with windows XP Pro (SP3) and current
MS Security Updates installed. When I see informative information about
Vista usage and operations, I save these files to my current computer for
future use. I should note that I have NAV 2006, BoClean, SpywareBlaster,
Adaware SE Plus, and ZoneAlarm installed on my computer
Unfortunately I am seeing something not noted before when saving files from
the internet. The problem file icon is similar to the icon of io.sys and
msdos.sys files in the root directory of the windows XP Pro. The problem
files have either the .htm or mht extensions. These files cannot be moved,
deleted, edited or copied. If I double click on one of these files, nothing
happens. I have tried to change the names and extensions of these files,
but nothing happens. I should note that when I save these type of files
from the internet, in most cases I select "Single File" in the "Save As
Type" entry.
The only point of interest that I can think of, is that at the end of the
day before shutting down the computer, I use PurgeIE to clear temp folders.
Any suggestions/information about this problem would be very much
appreciated, Sam.
