Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Troubles - App Error Code

I get this error when I try to run Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 ....and it aborts.

bad version: 4

I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the graphics card.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of DirectX.
I have killed all applications except TASKMGR and EXPLORER as suggested.
I have killed all processes relative to my userid.

Nothing seems to work.

On top of that, I am on the other end of a telephone connection (24k bps
tops!)...so this is a very painful experience!

Desperate in Vermont...can anyone tell me the answer?

Hi mikevtskier,

I noticed that you haven't tried to reinstall the game.
Give that a try, and let us know the results. :)
