roaming profile vs. local profile

Is it possible to do the following? : if sy log on to Xp
at a computer first, profile is created. But is not good
for me.I want classic start menu, etc,so a modified
profile. So I can make a roaming profile on the Domain
Controller...But at the firm, bandwidth is not the best,so
I would like to make it local. So when a user logs onto a
computer that he/she hasn't yet,"MY" profile would
load, and then be a local profile.
Is it possible?
thanks

Once you've logged on with your roaming profile, you can (per machine) set
the profile not to roam.
Right click on My Computer->Properties->Advanced->User Profiles.

The user state migration tool or the files and settings transfer wizard
might be an easier way to export your settings from one machine and import
them on another. (I'm not claiming any expertise with those tools, though.)
