Hi,

Ok, we will tone it down.) The easy way:

If you have TweakUI installed: Go to My Computer/Templates - Delete/Create.
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP: http://tinyurl.com/h8zs

Thanks, but...
1. those are not the same ones in the 'new' menu.
2. but if they were, how do you add or delete?

Have run shellnew also have tweakui...
1. shellnew brings up c:\windows\shellnew dirWin.
I added empty NOTEPAD.TXT file to dir.
closed then rtClick, new but no joy.

2. tweakui,my computer,templates, create btn.
I've already got "TXT File" listed under 'Documents Templates' and is ticked, however not seen on new popUp - any idea?
I click create btn, brings up openTemplate selection dialogue.
What 'template' format supposed to be eg: empty '*.txt' file name as above?

Your site rocks Kelly :-O

Hi Kelly,

No, I do not have (MS) Office, nor any other "productivity" application suites installed.

I have emailed a reply to your email to me.

In my message-list, I noticed your reply to my parallel post (strike-through), but since I refreshed, your post no longer appears.

In another post in this thread, you asked Tim to export this key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\ShellNew

If it is relevant, that sub-key does not exist in my key

Hi Jan,

The servers were having issues. My reply was that this has to do with
Office or the lack of on your system.) And yes, I did receive your

Kelly!
All working now (well that's bit much ;) but NEW is working now and via TweakUI + shellnew things working.
One observation was I had to RunAs-admin/tweakui to get my usually used non-admin reg info inline with admin's
Is this always the case - I mean, admin fixes his setup hkcu's and then just how do non-admin people sort out or does admin troll through registry and reset each to mirror admin's reg info???
Thanking you in huge amts Kelly...
Regards
Tim
