right click on items and double click

When I double click and right mouse click on a item, so not a folder, it
takes about a minute before the context menu appears. If taskmanager is opgen
it says also that the window in which I clicked is not responding. I already
search other posts and they said to use the program ShellExView and to turn
off some context menu items. I tried them all, even all together. As well as
non-microsoft as well as microsoft and also together. I also downloaded the
new DivX software but the problem stays.
Can somebody please help me?
Thanks a lot..
I'm using Windows XP home edition

What video card are you using? I ask this because I experienced a similar
symtpom (I use an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro). I managed to resolve the issue by
installing the latest version of the Catylist Control Centre (including a
driver update)... but this had to be performed after installing a .NET 1.1
update.

Ramesh,

The solution I found in 'Right-click is extremely slow only when Network is
enabled'. Autocad and photoshop are programs on other computers on the
network wich once have been runned from my computer, so an registry file was
on my computer, but the other computers are not all the time on. I removed
about 9 registry files wich started with // (computers on the network) and
now it's solved! thank you very much.
