Reviewer listed didn't review the doc!

I have a user who has a Word 2003 doc he has been editing between himself and
one other person. Their "track changes" show fine. However, a 3rd person is
showing up as a Reviewer who has made changes, but this perosn has never
touched the document. Do you have any idea why this is happening and how to
get it to stop?

Thank you.

Perhaps the 3rd reviewer has never touched the document, but has the document
ever been revised by _anyone_ using the system where that reviewer is the
registered user?

Hi There - if by "system" you mean "computer" - then the answer would be no.
(I guess if by "system" you mean" network", the answer would be yes) because
both reviewers are members of the same network and each has their own
computer and neither one has ever logged on to the other person's computer.
The other "legitimate" reviewer is from another company and the document is
emailed back and forth between the 2. The 3rd, "wrong" reviewer is part of
our company.

Thanks for your continuing help.

I honestly don't know what to tell you. The info re reviewers comes from
Tools>Options--User Info, which _should_ be unique to each installation of
Word. It isn't something that gets typed in or arbitrarily grabbed from
cyberspace.

The one other possibility I can think of is that one user may have been set
up on the computer which was then 'transferred' to the other user. Perhaps
the second user made changes before modifying the User Info?

As long as the 3rd user is not involved, however, Accepting/Rejecting the
changes made under their ID should remove those markups from the doc.
