Hello,

I recently removed an email account from Outlook 2007, but unfortunately
there were a bunch of contacts stored in the Outlook folder associated with
that account, and now the contacts are missed.

The deleted account was from a MS Exchange server. I doubt there is a local
backup of the contacts/other Outlook data.

So, my questions are:
-Is there any way to retreive the contacts?
-Assuming the contacts are in a .pst file, what's the likelyhood the .pst is
still around after having removed the account from Outlook?
-Are the contacts stored on the server in any way? If I restore the
Exchange account in Outlook (connect to the Exchange server) is there any
chance the contacts will be restored?

Thanks,
-Evan

If the OST associated with the Exchaneg account still resides on disk, you
can purchase an OST to PST converter.

Exchange accounts don't use PSTs.

Yes and yes. If you create the account in Outlook again and connect to the
server, the data should still be in the mailbox. You can then move the data
to a PST or you can export the mailbox on the Exchange server itself with an
Exchange tool. I believe Exmerge can do it.

Thanks so much Brian, this was a real help. I now have a much happier
client and my stress level is much reduced.

Just FYI, I used the method of connecting ot the Exchange server via
Outlook, then copied the contacts into a local Outlook folder and re-deleted
the Exchange account in Outlook.
