resume slide show

I am using 2003 PP. I just recently installed CA virus scanner. Ever since it
has been installed, my power point presetation will stop and go to the power
point program and it has a buttion that says resume slide show. If I click on
it, it resumes and then in about 5 min or so it will stop again and I the
button will be there again for me to resume.

I have never seen this happen, but I figured out how to emulate this result.
If you are running your pp presentation and you hit the keys alt + Tab it
produces the same result I am getting, but it does it on its own. As you can
imagine this is very frustrating when you are trying give a speech and
presenstation bails on you.

I also need to mention that this happens at random. Sometimes I can make it
through a 30 min prestation without it stopping, while one time it happend
every 5 min. Do you think that the CA program is causing this or is it
something else? What can I do to fix the problem?

The "resume slide show" button shows up when something has stolen focus from
your presentation. In your case, I believe the virus scan is stealing focus.

See if you can change your antivirus program settings to perform a system
scan once a day and scan other files upon opening only.
