Restriction Pop-up Box

M

Miguel Nevarez

Running Windows XP Pro: When I click on Tools, then
Internet Options I'm receiving the following pop-up box:
This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in
effect on this computer. Please contact your systems
administrator. I never set any kind of restrictions.

Also, when I click on Control Panel, then click Internet
Options, and look at the HomePage option in General Tab,
I cannot modify the homepage. some how this was
restricted also. And mind you, I have admin access.
Nothing was ever set since this is my home computer.

How can I correct these problems.

This is usually caused by popup/spam/spyware/adware
removers.

If you didn't install any then you can probable disable
it manually by editing the registry. I don't feel like
typing it out so just search the Micro$oft knowledge base

Miguel,
Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
"Lock IE control panel against opening from within IE (current user)"
