Hello,

I have a PC which has two user accounts; Mom&Dad & thekids. How can I allow

Hello,

I have a PC which is running XP Media Edition and has two user accounts;
Mom&Dad & thekids. How can I allow
mom&dad access to the internet, while stopping access for thekids?

I have done some work in the group policy editor, but I had some issues:

1. I am not sure what is the simplest way of restricting all internet access.
2. How do I only apply the restriction to thekids, without restricting
Mom&Dad access?
3. Is there a way to restrict access to the CD/DVD drive while giving
Mom&Dad full access?

Thanks

Fred

Hi
It would more flexible and safer getting a second computer for the Kids and
configure it to do what you want without worrying about elaborate parental
control on one PC that is also used by adults.
On the same computer Kids (if they not very young) can defeat your settings)
with free software that is readily available.
For the Internet, you can Disabling the Network card before you log out of
your account, and restrict changing the NIC status on limited account
through policy.
As for the DVD www.devicelock.com . It's an inexpensive 3rd Party Tool (I
think that there is a trial version download).
