Restoring the XP Explorer Task Pane

Hi,

Somehow the task pane deal that is on by default in windows explorer
(XP) got shut off on my laptop... any suggestions as to how I can get
it to come back up? After a decent amount of searching and messing
around with it myself I can't seem to get it.

BTW, this is what I'm referring to:

(I know this is odd and most people would like to REMOVE it, but I am
sort of used to it now )

Hello,

Click My Computer.

Tools > Folder Options > Check "Show common tasks in folders"

If the above doesn't work

Tools > Folder Options > "Restore Defaults"

"Restore defaults" didn't work (tried that before), but the "common
tasks" button did the trick.
