restoring prior time

I have been trying to restore my computer back to the
original settings and cannot do it no matter what I try.
I am going crazy.

You cannot restore your computer back to its original settings. To do that,
you must format your hard disk and reinstall all your software. If the
computer vendor included a set of recovery CDs, you can use them for the
reinstall. Otherwise, you will have to reinstall each application
separately.
