Restoring e-mail on Microsoft Outlook Express

If e-mails are lost for whatever reason, does anyone know how to restore
them? I went into Outlook Express and received an error message (something
like can't find .exe file for Outlook Express). Went back in and my inbox (&
other mailboxes) were empty. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

Search your user profile for *.dbx files, they may have become corrupted and
new ones (empty ones) were created. You might be able to import them into
your new mail folders (under the file menu), but there is also a chance they
may gone. Another tool to try, providing you can locate the files, is
dbxtract from MVP Steve Cochran here:

DBXpress will find all the messages still on the hard drive if run in Disk
(not Recover) mode.
