I need help accessing my backup.pst file from my old comptor. I have a disk
copy of my backup.pst file which was transfered over to a disk. I am trying
to access this file to tranfer it to my new computor and outlook file. When
do so, it tells me that I don't have permission to access this file.......how
to I access this backup.pst file and tranfer it onto my new computor.

FAQ 1.3
1.3 I copied my .PST file to a CD and took it to my home computer but the
home computer says it can't read it.
Outlook requires Read & Write access to the PST files. Copy the PST file to
your C: drive, make sure the Read-Only property is turned off (right-click
the PST file and choose Properties) and then try to access it again.

FIrst copy it to the hard drive (taking care not to overwrite any existing
PST) and remove the read-only attribute. Then start Outlook and click
File>Open>Outlook Data File. Browse to the PST, select it, and click OK.
You'll now have access to all the data it contains.
