Restore Websie - Bad Shared Boarders

What is the proper way to restore a FrontPage Designed web site? Something
happened to our intranet’s shared boarders (missing a link) and I couldn’t
figure it out so I restored the site’s directory from a tape backup of what I
believed to be a successful backup prior the first sign of the problem. I
restored over the original site (no modifications were made so I wasn’t
concerned of loosing changes). The same situation, still missing a link from
the shared boarders. I restored a tape from over a month ago to a redirected
location (on the same server) and still can not get the navigation back from
the way it was. I have no idea where to turn next. How can a full restore
of the site’s NTFS directory not correct this problem? The only thing that I
can think of is that there must need to be more that needs to be restored.
Any Ideas will be appreciated!

Is the server running the latest version of the extensions and all updates?

How do I verify the latest FrontPage Server Extensions? I don't think we
have updated them in a long time (if at all). Our intranet runs on a Server
2000 w/ SP4. The IT staff is using FP2003 to edit the site. With the
combination of Server 2000 and FP2003 I think you are on the right path with
the server extensions. Can the latest server extensions be installed on
Server 2000?

Yes, the latest version (FP2002) and all updates can be installed on Windows 2000 Server.

To check the version of the extensions open the site directly in FP, then Tools | Web / Site
settings.

We have FP Server Extensions version 5.0.2.2623. Server is running MS
IIS/5.0. I can not find what is the latest version or if there are any
updates for the extensions. Please advise. Also how will this help with the
original question of restoring the web site and correcting the shared
boarders?
