restore registry problem

I used one of the suggestion from the post to my first question to use
recover console to copy files from winnt\repair\report to
winnt\system32\config. So, I did just that; copied default, sam, security,
software & system, however, after I reboot, the initial problems were gone,
but I can open MS Excel & MS Word. Any idea?

The pc is now back to a point in time of the registry files used. If the
case of the files in;
%windir%\repair\regback
then the date/time of the last backup;
else if the case of the files in;
%windir%\repair
then the date/time of the original install.
