Restore my system to Factory settings

hi,
i want to restore my computer back to factory setting because there alot of
programs i want to get rid, uninstall cannot remove them. and i contact dell
for assistance but the technician wont help me bcos my warranty was expired.
so if have any idea pls you are welcome. I tried to clean the system with
the reinstallation CD that came with the laptop but it doesnt do it maybe i
dont know what to do. any help pls

With /most/ Dell systems you have 3 CDs or one DVD. If it is three CDs
insert the OS disk first and boot and reformat the whole thing. Then you'll
want the drivers disk (purple and white normally) and you'll install the
drivers you need. Finally you'll install the programs from the Programs
disk.
