resolution on an ati vid

I have an ati X800gto and installed vista last night. For some reason my
resolution says 1024X768 but it looks huge on my 17" samsung. It looks like
800X600! Should I try an older driver or is there an edit to try 1280X1024?

A little more information is needed in order to provide a meaningful
response?
What ATI driver release are you using?
What release of Vista are you running?
Have you run Winupdate on your Vista release to see if MS has a newer Vista
driver availabe?
What is the native resolution of your display?
What display interface are you using?
