need it set at 384mb for NTFS. Go to:-----Original Message-----
Hello,
I am attempting to convert my hard drive to NTFS. I
formerly had Windows ME installed and later upgraded to
Windows XP Professional. I have used the
program "Bootitng" to align my partition to have 4KB
clusters for the new file system. This process completed
successfully with this program.
I restarted my computer and typed "convert c: /fs:ntfs"
into the command prompt to convert to NTFS. I, again,
restarted the computer. Scan Disk started, found no
problems with the hard drive and did not mention any bad
sectors. Then the computer worked for about 2 minutes
(the HD light was blinking) and then stated "Insufficient
Memory" 3 times and then aborted the conversion. This was
the only error message displayed.
Consequently, the conversion was never able to complete.
My system is configured as follows:
Windows XP Professional (Upgrade from Windows ME)
1.2 GHz AMD Athlon
512 MB RAM
40.0 GB Hard Drive (Formatted as FAT32 by Windows ME,
using about 12 GB)
Could anyone provide some advice about how to correct this
issue?
Thank you,
Dr. Lahle

Your RAM is not the problem but Virtual Memory is. You
Start/ControlPanel/Performance&Maintenance/System/Advanced
tab/Performance settings button/Advanced tab/Performance
button/Virtual Memory change button, set to 384mb/Click
Apply first then OK and reboot.
