Reply and Forward Freezes

I have a customer who is running Outlook 2000 SP1 on W2K SP4 and when he
tries to reply or forward emails his message window freezes and inserts a
tilde (~) in the message window. He can still access his menu bar and tool
bar when the message he is replying to or forwarding is up but he cannot type
in the message window.

This does not happen each and every time (but a lot) and it doesn't matter
if he is replying to government, military, or a commercial address.

Did you try running Detect & Repair? (Help menu) How much RAM does that
machine have? How is it on free disk space?
