Replacing IE default web site

Here is an interestinng delemma: Try as I might, I cannot seem to replace the
default Home web page
(http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome) with my
current ISP page (http://www.zoomtown.com). Every time I enter Tool>Internet
Options>General Tab and replace the former with the latter then hit the Use
Current or Use Default or even Use Blank tab the MSN web page returns.
Nothing seems to work and I am beginning to HATE MSN. Can someone please
direct me to the place in my system where this PEST resides so that I can
remove it? My system is a Dell 9150 PC with XP home....Many
thanks.............

Type in the home page you want to use & instead of hitting Use Current or Use
Default or Use Blank, just click on Apply at the bottom of the box.

Some ISPs "lock" the web page, although it seems a bit strange to have
it locked to MSN. Because I don't use IE that much, I've forgotten the
method to deal with this. Ask your question in

For IE6:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6.browser
(aka Internet Explorer 6 General)

For IE7:
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
(aka Internet Explorer General)

CinciDave,
Do you have any security suites such as SpyBot, Norton, or McAfee, or
toolbars such as Yahoo or Google toolbars, installed? The option to prevent
the homepage setting to changed, may be enabled. You will need to go into
the Options for these programs, and turn off this feature.
