Replacing dye ink with pigment

Is it possible to refill an HP color cartidge like the #95 with pigment
ink instead of the original dye ink? Would it probably damage the
cartridge head or not function at all? The black cartridge #98 does use
pigment ink.

Although pigment particles can vary quite a bit in size, those used for
inkjet inks should be small enough to easily clear the nozzle hole by
quite a bit. The main problem tends to be that they are abrasive and
can wear the nozzle surface, and if they clump or dry due to viscosity
issues or being too quick to dry, that can become a clogging issue.

So, I suggest you try to locate an ink that is designed for an HP or at
least thermal printer head, and experiment.

And why not shop for refillable ink cartridge which you can fill with just
about any type of ink you wish to try. And they often end up much cheaper
than using the original cartridge in the first place.

So, point your browser to GOOGLE around for refillable ink cartridges for
you printer, and the price can be from $15-80+ for the whole set depending
on the number of catridge and the company. Not only they are cheap but you
can refill and refill and refill to save even more money.

That is a rip off because it is very substandard.

That's a great idea. I'll see who makes an empty clone cart for the
HP-#95 and experiment with some pigment colored ink. Nothing to lose
really. Who knows, it might work.

There are refillable ink cartridge for most if not all models of all
printer manufactures, yes even couple years old models.

Just make sure not to spend extra for the same cartridge as I have seen
some company sells around $18-25 for a set of 6 cartridges when other may
want $15-20 for just ONE cartridge.

Just like the after market photo paper you use. The village idiot is
also a hypocrite.
