Replacing Banner Ad Manager with non-Java equivalent

I've recently discovered that a Banner Ad Manager
component that I've been using for the last year is no
longer working in some browsers. You can see it at
www.dreamscometrueinvitations.com. It is being used to
sequence several photos with a dissolve.

For myself, I can get it to work if I enable the Sun Java
Machine, but I can't get it work if I disable the Sun
Java VM. In other words, the MS Java VM doesn't work,
even though JView indicates that it is installed. I've
tried reinstalling the MS VM to no avail. This used to
work a few weeks ago for me without the Sun VM installed,
so I suspect something broke during a Windows Automatic
Update.

Now, other people are telling me that it isn't working in
their browsers--they see a red "x" where the image should
be. Does this just mean that they have Java disabled for
some reason?

Therefore, I'd like to just get rid of this Java
dependency and duplicate this functionality in a more
compatible manner. Does anyone know how to do this?

Sorry that I'm not completely following your reply, but
how will this help me get away from Java if I'm just
replacing the Banner Ad manager with a different slide
show java script? Won't I still have the same problem
that people with Java disabled won't see the slide show?

Java and JavaScript are two different technologies, sharing only in the word Java.

JavaScript is a scripting language and is supported by most browser by default.

Java applet requiring a Java Virtual Machine to be installed on the user's PC.
