replace webshots wallpaper changer

I installed webshots for a wallpaper changer (every hour or so) but it
is a drag on system resources since it seems to try to call home (have
it blocked) every few minutes, so have to shut it down.

Any nice freeware desktop wallpaper changers?

I would like to just point it to a folder with subfolders and randomly
pick out pics in any of the several folders.

Also, since I made up a bunch of webshots collections, any that use the
old webshots collections (along with my own pics which make up most of
the collections)?

There is a good program called wallpaper cycler made by nuon soft. It
doesn't use webshots collections, but it has a nice interface with the
ability to save collections of wallpapers and organize them by categories.

Why don't you just turn off the check for new photos option and stick with
Webshots? I've had Webshots for years and it doesn't phone home after you
turn off the appropriate options. Admittedly I may have an older version
( ver 1.3.0.3613 ) than you.
With Win XP SP2, current mem usage 2248k.

The new version does not have that option. I found an old version and
installed it so things are back to normal. My mem usage is 2360 and no
more calling home. Thanks.
