Replace motherboard in server

I have been forced to replace the main board in our win2k server as th
old one appears to have died. The old one was a dual processor boar
but the new one is a single processor and the server will not load.
have managed to replace the mainboard drivers so the new ones ar
loading but the system still hangs at the "starting up" screen. Is thi
because of the HAL's and does anyone know what i need to do to resolv
this.. Thanks.

The boot drive is scsi aswell if that helps

The multiprocessor HAL should boot a single CPU
system.

I would suggest that you do a full setup-repair. Boot
from the Server CD. Do NOT choose the first repair
option. When setup detects the existing Windows
installation and asks if you want to repair it, choose that.

This will run enhanced-mode setup and rebuilds
the hardware description in the registry. Unless there
is something loading that is incompatible with the new
chipset, this should take care of your problem.

You need to reinstall all service packs and critical
updates after you finish with this.
