Repair asks for SP1 disk.

While repairing my XP SP2 machine, it asks for the XP SP1 disk to be
inserted. I have SP2 installed, and the machine was originally upgraded to
SP1 via download, so don't have it. Typing in the path C:\i386 doesn't work,
and SP1 is no longer available for download so that I might burn a CD of it.
Can anyone help?

Not that I think the file alone will solve your issue.. (Likely need to
make a Windows XP CD with SP1 integrated in it - although that seems weird
if you had SP2 installed - I think you need an XP CD with SP2 integrated
personally - but...)

Service Pack 1 Download

(Yes - SP1a is SP1 without JVM.)

what kind of repair are you doing?
I don't remember any repair asking for Service Pack.

Thanks both for your answers. Just got back here as my laptop locked me out
of the forums. I had the advice to make a slipstream XP disk with SP2; I did
that and got my main machine going again. My main problem was that the
computer was bought with XP installed but without the original XP disk. I
tried to repair using another XP install disk. Hope that makes sense!
