Hello,

this has been discussed quite a bit, and I read that removing Windows
Messenger will disable Whiteboard and Remote Assistance.

I was referring to this command for removing messenger:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
%windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Are there any other known issues this would cause? Or is it a safe
thing to do, given that I don't need the above programs?

Thanks!

I think it'd be easier to disable Windows Messenger from running.

Using this script from Doug's site should more than do the trick
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_messenger.htm
and

function without windows messenger.
