Removing Port DOT4_001

D

Dante

When I installed my HP OfficeJet Pro 1150c, a port was
created DOT4_001. My printer stopped printing. I tried to
reinstall the drivers, even removed them first but it
doesn't work. I tried removing the DOT4_001 port it gives
me an error. I tried configuring the port it gives me an
error.

Help!

The easiest way is to delete it from the registry. If you are not
comfortable editing the registry. Unplug the device and reboot the machine
until the port is no longer listed. It will take more than one reboot
before Plug and Play and the spooler finally decide that the device that was
attached is not coming back.
