remove programs not listed in add/remove list

I installed vistascan32 and presto page manager on my
computer and set them up to be compatable to Win95 only
to find out that my scanner won't work with XP. Now I
can't uninstall the software, it doesn't show up in the
add/remove programs list and when I try to reinstall the
programs I get an error "the win16 subsystem was unable
to enter protected mode, dosx.exe must be in your
autoexec.nt and present in your path". I just want to
remove these programs.

Any suggestions?

Go to the folder the program is installed in, and look for a file called
"uninstall" or "unwise".

If you can't find it there, contact the manufacturer for your scanner.
