Remove old Windows ME installation.

Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs, and choose the option to remove your
old Windows Me system files. About 1 GB of old files will be removed. After
that, there is no way back.
For any surfers of these postings reading this, the better alternative
for moving from Windows 98/Me to Windows XP is not to upgrade, but to do a
New Installation. Be sure to do a full system backup of all your data files,
e-mail archives, address books, and configuration settings, as well as
having all needed XP-specific drivers downloaded for your hardware and
peripherals, and all your original application CDs. This Setup takes much
longer (dedicate about a full day), but once done, the old days of Windows
9x/Me are in the past forever, and the system is as "clean" as you can make
it.
