Remote desktop on my LAN not working

hi i have a small lan and want to remote control other pc's [98se &
2k] ...i have installed remote d/top but cant find any other machines
on the LAN....i have also installed the remote dtop connection
software on the other machines...the error is when i attempt to browse
the network from the R/desktop screen is:
"the WORKGROUP workgroup/domain does not contain any terminal servers"

i can see the other computers in network neighborhood and can ping /
transfer files etc etc.....the lan is based on a netgear FR114P
prosafe firewall router
any tips gratefully rec'd

Hi,

The remote desktop only functions to access WinXP Pro machines. You can't
use it to remotely run other versions of Windows, though you can install the
files to other machines to access the WinXP Pro system. To do what you are
asking, you would need something like PCanywhere.

i have tried using PCA 11.00 seems to be a dud at least on our lan
