Remote Desktop not connecting

Dominik

Hello,

My remote desktop worked for months flawlessly until a
few day ago. There were no software or hardware added to
the PC.

When I try to access my RD, I get the following error:
"THE CLIENT COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE REMOTE COMPUTER.
REMOTE CONNECTIONS MIGHT NOT BE ENABLED OR THE COMPUTER
MIGHT BE TOO BUSY TO ACCEPT NEW CONNECTIONS. IT IS ALSO
POSSIBLE THAT NETWORK PROBLEMS PREVENTING YOUR
CONNECTION. PLEASE TRY CCONNECTING AGAIN LATER. IF THE
PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR, CONTACT YOUR ADMINISTRATOR."

This is what I have tried so far:
My Remote Desktop connection is enabled. I tried to login
as administrator via WAN using FQDN and my (static) IP
address. I tried connecting on my local LAN using the
computer's IP. I rebooted the computer, disabled and re-
enabled the RDC. I used a different NIC card. I tested my
local LAN by connecting to another XP pro w/RDC - it
worked.

It seems that the problem is specific to the machine.

Did anyone encounter this problem? Would you have any
ideas, suggestions?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,
Dominik.

We are having the same exact issue. It worked fine a few
days ago. Please let me know if you find a solution.

We did install the MS security patches with auto update,
don't know if that is the culpret... DJ

I was able to resolve the problem with RDC. Recently, I
have installed Cisco VPN client on my Win XP box. RDP
worked fine with it. But, later on, I must have checked an
option for STATEFUL FIREWALL (ALWAYS ON). Today, I have
uncheck this option and I was able to connect to my XP
machine via WAN and LAN.
