remote desktop console switch not working

When I had a Win2000 pro workstation I downloaded the "remote desktop
connection" and connected to Server 2003 boxes using the "mstsc /console"
switch to get to the console. Now I have a WinXP workstation and when I use
the same switch with the remote desktop connection it doesn't work. In fact
the program doesn't even open when I use that switch. Is there a different
way to get to the console of a server from an XP machine?

Hi,

Remote desktop is build into XP Professional and you can access it from

start | Programs | Accessories | Communications.

Use this for connecting to your server.

Yes, but my question was why doesn't the console switch work when connecting
to a 2003 box from my XP machine? I need to get to the 'console' not just
open a remote 'session'.
