Remote Desktop and csrss.exe and basesrv problem

Rocco

Hi all,
I have two PCs with XP PRO (sp2 and all updates). I cannot control them
with Remote Desktop because when I try I get this error in these host
PCs (It's a translation from italian language of the window):

<<csrss.exe - Cannot locate component
Cannot locate the selected application. Unable to find basesrv. A new
installation of the application could solve the problem.>>

Original: <<Impossibile avviare l'applicazione specificata. basesrv non
è stato trovato. Una nuova installazione dell'applicazione potrebbe
risolvere il problema.>>

I've checked that the Terminal services csrss.exe is started, the port
3389 is open and the file basesrv.dll is present in system32 folder.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance

Rocco

I don't think its a Remote Desktop issue based on a quick Google search.

Hi Jarvi,
the firs is the other post of mine in an italian ng.
I's for shure related to Remote desktop because as soon as I click "connect"
in the client, this error window appears in the host (server) pc.
Apart from this, the server pc works perfectly and I experience only this
specific problem that prevents me to use Remote Desktop...
I'll post in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general too...
