remote desk top

i have a problem on my server .i cannot connect to my
server through remote desk top i gave all the details
reagrding name ,user name ,password,work group name etc
but an error message showing the 'remote server could not
found'.is there is any necessary that the work group of
the server and the other computer is same
pls guide me
my server is configured as rars and terminal server
i am trying to connect through a modem of 56 kbps

Have you try connecting using IP address instead of machine name?
